The flight number starts BA. You booked on ba.com. And the airline that flew you was BA Euroflyer, a separate company British Airways owns and runs from Gatwick. None of that changes what you are owed. The rules follow the flight, not the company badge on the tail. ## Which rules cover a Gatwick departure UK261 covers every flight out of a UK airport, whoever operates it. That is most of what BA Euroflyer flies. On the way back, the airline's licence matters. BA Euroflyer holds a UK operating licence, so UK261 also covers your flight into the UK from Málaga, Faro or Tirana. A departure from an EU airport falls under EU261 as well. The sums are fixed by distance: - **£220** or **€250** on routes up to 1,500 km - **£350** or **€400** on routes between 1,500 and 3,500 km - **£520** or **€600** on longer routes You are owed the money once you land three or more hours late, or when the airline cancels with less than fourteen days' notice. ## Do I claim from BA or from BA Euroflyer? From British Airways. It sold you the ticket and it handles the claim. Write to BA, give the flight number and the date, and say when you actually landed. You do not need to name the subsidiary at all.
